Description
The 4040 RO Membrane Element is a vital part of any reverse osmosis (RO) system, designed to purify water by effectively removing contaminants. In the world of water filtration, RO membranes are semi-permeable, meaning they selectively allow water molecules to pass through while blocking harmful substances like salts, minerals, and other impurities. Whether you’re looking to improve water quality for your home, business, or industrial processes, understanding how the 4040 RO membrane works is key to ensuring clean, safe water.
How It Works:
- Pressure is applied to the contaminated water (often called “feed water”).
- The water is pushed through the RO membrane, which has tiny pores.
- Pure water molecules pass through the membrane, while contaminants like dissolved salts, bacteria, and organic compounds are left behind and flushed away.
Types of Contaminants Removed:
- Dissolved salts (like sodium, chloride)
- Heavy metals (such as lead, and mercury)
- Chemicals (e.g., chlorine, pesticides)
- Microorganisms (bacteria, viruses)
- Organic materials
BW & ULP series has the properties of high permeate flow and excellent desalination.BW series is mainly applicable to the treatment of various industrial water.

RO membranes are commonly made from thin-film composite (TFC) materials and require regular maintenance to avoid fouling or scaling, which can reduce their effectiveness.
